About

As a child I was always drawn to telling other people's stories. Fast forward to today and I now have an English Literature degree from the University of Reading, and have spent the past few years since graduating writing for a living, in one way or another, so I never really lost that passion.

While I was at university my days are spent juggling lectures on Victorian literature, media studies and dissertation work and my work was split fairly equally between reading, researching and writing. In my spare time now, I can still often be found with my head inside a book, with a pen in my hand or with my eyes glued to my laptop screen, reading, writing, or researching.

Prior to beginning my degree I took a gap year during which I completed several internships with a number of newspaper and magazines; these included Six Out Of Ten Magazine, HexJam, The South African Newspaper and Pet Product Marketing Magazine. I also spent a summer whilst at university, working in London as an Online Journalism Intern for the conservation company, Frontier.

I like variety in my life though so alongside my passion for writing I'm always searching for the next destination to jet off to and my favourite way to relax after a long week is by going for a long ride across the countryside on my pony. Put simply, if I'm outside you will generally find me with a smile on my face!

Even when I'm inside I never really lose the draw for the countryside life and this is something that is often translated across into the posts that can be found on my lifestyle blog, www.talesfromthecountry.com. I've been running Tales from the Country for about seven years now and while it originally started out as an online diary about my then pony Rocky, it has since evolved into an online space that encompasses a range of different topics.

As a freelance writer I thrive on being able to create engaging content that connects the audience to the story that I am telling, so please get in touch with me if you have a project or collaboration in mind.
